Policies and Procedures

Welcome to Park West Medical Clinic - Family Practice

We offer both virtual and in person appointments booked through MEDEO.  Please click on the medeo link to create your account/or to schedule your appointment.

Please see the following suggestions when choosing your appointment type:

When to book an in person visit:

  • If you have something that needs to be examined, such as rash, lump, pain, etc.
  • If you require periodic examination for your condition (such as blood pressure)
  • If you prefer an in person visit

Remember: An in-person visit is the preferred visit type.

When to book a virtual visit:

(You must be in CANADA at the time of your virtual appointment)

  • If you need to follow up on an issue already familiar to your doctor
  • If you have questions your doctor can answer without a physical examination
  • If you require a virtual visit due to scheduling/transportation concerns. Remember a video visit is an option as well, if you have the technology.

General Office Policy

We expect and promote a respectful environment. Foul language and inappropriate behaviour will not be tolerated in the office. If any of our staff feel threatened or unsafe in any way, you will be asked to leave the premises and/or the authorities will be called. Inappropriate behaviour may also result in being discharged from the practice.

This includes following any office Safety Policies with regards

to the greater public health.

Sameday booking/urgent care requests:

We have very limited urgent care appointments available on a daily basis for each physician. Be mindful that these are filled very quickly with URGENT medical issues and my be subjected to a triage process. If you have an  Emergency, the best place to be is the Emergency Department.

You cannot book ahead of today with any physician other than your own family doctor.

Prescription Policy:

***   NEW   ***

Effective October 2023 we are offering a new service where your

family doctor  may fax a prescription to your pharmacy without a visit.

This will only be for those instances where a regular appointment is not readily available, and only for an interim supply.

When you call,  you will be required to answer the following questions:

  1. Has this medication has been prescribed through this clinic previously?
  2. Do you have concerns regarding side effects or need for dosage adjustment?
  3.  Have you had a clinical encounter with their doctor with in the last year (or in some cases, within the last 6 months)?
  4. Does the prescription does not require any monitoring at this time (eg.  bloodwork or examination)

**You will also NEED to have your prescription bottle with you, so we know the exact name and dosage.**
